Skin dryness is a common problem – it occurs in many skin diseases, also as a side effect of the treatment used. Most often, however, it is related to genetic factors and skin aging (slowing down of hyaluronic acid production, changes in skin barrier function) and environmental factors, the most important of which are:
- stress
- sun
- air conditioning
- smoking
- insufficient or ill-adapted skin care
A vicious circle is created – dry skin is prone to earlier aging, especially the formation of wrinkles. Early intervention to improve the condition of the skin is able to slow down the aging process considerably – prevention in young people, improvement in appearance in mature people:
Some chemical peels are able to reduce dryness and flakiness of the skin by normalising skin barrier function, stimulating cell division and thickening the basal layer of the epidermis. The doctor’s choice of peel ingredients and appropriate post-treatment care are crucial. In the absence of adequate knowledge, a common side effect is unfortunately further drying of the skin.
Mesotherapy with non cross-linked, cross-linked or stabilized hyaluronic acid not only moisturises the skin but also exerts a metabolic and anti-ageing effect (scientific data confirmed by histopathological examination of skin sections).
Especially stabilized and cross-linked hyaluronic acids such as Profhilo or Skinboosters provide long lasting effects for dry skin and wrinkles.
